Who we are
The Ovalau Outrigger Canoe & Sailing Association (OOCSA) is a nonprofit organization rooted in the heart of Fiji’s Lomaiviti Islands. Founded in 2020 and based on the historic island of Ovalau, OOCSA was born from a desire to uplift at-risk youth and bridge the gap between generations, cultures, and challenges through community outreach, mentorship, and cultural exchange. We believe in the power of unity, resourcefulness, and love—Loloma—as guiding principles for a better future.
Our mission goes far beyond paddling and sailing. We collaborate with local ministries, schools, civil servants, and volunteers to create programs that educate, support, and empower youth facing rapidly changing social and economic environments. From providing basic needs through our Loloma Box Initiative to organizing immersive summer service trips, our work is deeply connected to the heartbeat of the islands and the people who call them home.
Living on an island teaches resilience—and OOCSA reflects that spirit. Our programs are designed not only to meet urgent needs, but to sow seeds for long-term sustainability. Whether it's assisting with village agriculture, supporting elders, or facilitating cultural rites of passage for visiting volunteers, we remain focused on nurturing growth from the inside out. Our reach spans across villages and even neighboring islands like Makogai and Moturiki.
At OOCSA, we don't just offer help—we offer connection, care, and continuity. Every project, partnership, and journey is designed to create lasting impact. We're not just building programs—we're building a legacy of Loloma, one trip, one youth, one community at a time.
