Dilkusha Children’s Home provides care and stability for children who have already experienced more than any child should have to carry. Many are healing from abuse, trauma, and circumstances that have shaped their lives far too early.
For OOCSA, supporting these children means more than delivering donated items or food packs. Those things matter, but they are only one part of the bigger picture.
What matters just as much is making sure these children know they are not forgotten.
That means respecting their privacy, protecting their dignity, and recognizing that support should continue beyond a single day or donation. It also means thinking about what happens as they grow older and eventually leave the care of the home.
That transition can be incredibly difficult.
One of OOCSA’s growing priorities is helping explore ways to connect these young people with stronger psychological and emotional support, especially as they begin navigating life outside the structure and protection they have known.
Our hope is to help create more pathways for guidance, mentorship, and care so they are not expected to figure everything out on their own.
Service is not always something that can be captured in a photograph.
Sometimes it is simply being present. Sometimes it is listening. Sometimes it is helping quietly, protecting someone’s story, and finding ways to support them long after the moment has passed.
That is the kind of work we want OOCSA to continue growing into.
Not just helping where we can today, but thinking about what support can look like tomorrow.
