With the support of our donors and community partners, OOCSA was able to help sponsor a Health and Wellness Day at Levuka Hospital, giving people from communities across Ovalau access to free prostate, HIV, HPV, and breast cancer screenings.
For many people, access to early screening and follow-up care is not always simple. That is why opportunities like this matter.
The goal was not just to bring services to Levuka for a day. It was to make care more accessible, encourage people to get checked, and help identify health concerns before they became more serious.
Multiple participants were referred for further testing in Suva, and some were able to receive HPV treatment that same day thanks to the equipment and resources brought by the Fiji Cancer Society.
That is the kind of impact we hope to keep building.
OOCSA has always believed that supporting a community means looking at the whole picture. It means creating opportunities for young people, preserving culture, promoting water safety, supporting education, and also making sure families have access to information and resources that can protect their health.
None of this happens because of one organization or one person.
It happens through people coming together, sharing resources, making introductions, donating, volunteering, and finding ways to help where help is needed most.
A big vinaka vakalevu to Str. Karolina, Str. Bera, Jonetani Ravula, Dr. Malakai Ranuve, the Levuka Hospital and staff, and the Fiji Cancer Society for making this day possible. A special thank you to Randall Kamea for helping create the connection that brought everyone together.
We are incredibly grateful to every person who has supported OOCSA and helped make initiatives like this possible.
It takes a village, and ours is growing.
